Student Support

Rensselaer Annual Fund (Area of Greatest Need)

Your gift today to the Rensselaer Annual Fund will ensure that our current generation of students has the resources available to graduate and change the world. Your help is needed – now more than ever – as we continue to prepare our students to join the global network of successful alumni after completing their education.

With your gift to the Annual Fund, Rensselaer students:

  • Benefit from scholarship support, helping to “bridge the gap” between what families pay and the overall cost of the Rensselaer experience
  • Experience a world-class undergraduate education of undisputed intellectual rigor
  • Participate in award-winning student programming
  • Take part in undergraduate research, internship, and study abroad programs
  • Collaborate with our talented and dedicated faculty

It is more important than ever to support our students in order to meet the nation’s growing need for scientific and technical talent. More than 90 percent of Rensselaer students receive some sort of financial aid. Your gift makes up the difference between what families pay and the cost of the Rensselaer experience and helps us invest in their future right now.

Undergraduate Student Relief Fund

This is an emergency fund for Rensselaer students who face financial hardship that threatens their academic progress during their time at Rensselaer. This fund supports current undergraduate students whose financial situation has abruptly changed in a manner which may impede their continued enrollment at Rensselaer. The Undergraduate Student Relief Fund provides one-time grants to undergraduate students in immediate need, for things like emergency travel expenses, medical bills not covered by insurance, or replacement costs for essential academic supplies or personal items.

Graduate Student Relief Fund

Similar to the Undergraduate Student Relief Fund, this emergency fund provides needed assistance to graduate students who face unexpected expenses that could jeopardize their success at Rensselaer.

Fraternity and Sorority Scholarship Fund

Donations to this fund support a scholarship that is awarded annually to students with the greatest need who are members of a Rensselaer fraternity or sorority. Contributions to this fund play a crucial role in providing scholarships to Fraternity and Sorority Commons community members. These scholarships address essential needs such as books, scholastic materials, and tuition assistance, ensuring they can remain focused on achieving their academic goals.

Rensselaer Union Club Gifts

A gift to the Rensselaer Union is truly unique because it directly supports all student groups on campus, not just a specific club. By contributing, you’re helping a diverse range of clubs and organizations that are essential to the RPI student experience. These groups foster teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills, while empowering students to make a real-world impact—core to a Rensselaer education.

Let’s Go Red! Championship Fund

This newly-established fund will help to cover many of the unplanned expenses that come along with successful RPI teams advancing in tournaments, like additional days on the road. With your support, RPI can ensure that all teams have what they need during their quests to win a title.
